About Finite Chess
Welcome!
Finite Chess is dedicated to those who love chess but have little time to "study" the game, and also for those who are just starting to open the books. This site is also intended to provide useful material for those who teach chess at a scholastic level. My site presents conceptual instruction, selected core principles, and a practical survey of openings and endgames.
 Before
I have been pleased with the tremendous success of my first chess site, "En Passant", which ran almost 6 years, and was selected as one of the top 10 chess sites on the web by the "Kasparov vs the World" page. En Passant vanished abruptly in late 2002 with the loss of my domain "Midnight Coffee", but after about 9 months of guilty neglect, it returned in June 2003 as "Finite Chess". I've updated and expanded the site during the restoration process and will be continuing to develop the site going forward.

Please feel free to use any of the material I present here, it's all copyrighted as public domain. I also appreciate your questions and comments, and hopefully some online gaming!
